Equipment
Food processor or cheese grater
1 Tall kitchen garbage bag
1 Clean 5-gallon bucket
Materials
3
Bars
Fels Naptha Soap, 5 oz.
1
Box
20 Mule Team Borax, 4 lbs.
1
Box
Arm & Hammer Washing Soda, 3 ½ lbs.
Instructions
Finely grate the 3 bars of soap or use a food processor.
In a very large pot or bowl, mix the soap, borax, and washing soda.
Add in desired optional essential oil.
Stir thoroughly.
Line a 5-gallon bucket with a tall kitchen garbage bag.
Pour the powder into the bag and secure it with a twist tie.
Put the lid tightly on the bucket. Keep shut until ready to use.
Use 2 tablespoons per load, added directly to the drum of the washer and not the soap dispenser. Use half the amount for a HE washing machine.
Notes
Stir ingredients in the bucket occasionally to avoid settling.
